Toll Gate Based Controls
QA InfoTech offers very extensive toll gate based controls to our customers so that a proper structured approach is followed in our complete testing methodology.By introducing proven toll-gate based approach for all QA related activities, we have streamlined our process with valuable results.

Toll Gate Based Controls

There are five stages in our toll gate based approach for the whole testing process.
arrow The first toll gate Initiate, is the testing process in which we are requested for a proposal (RFP). We have inputs from the user which include their business specification and project charter. The user issues an RFP to QA InfoTech, and QA InfoTech analyzes the requirements and gets any queries resolved. Test managers prepare proposals with effort and schedule estimation based on a strategy. The outputs are given as proposals, project estimation and tracking sheet.  The proposals are signed off to signal the end of the Initiate phase.
arrow The Second toll gate Define is initiated when the proposals are signed off, and when we take the tasks order with service levels and technical/functional specifications from the customer. After this, a detailed analysis of the requirements including tools/equipment is done, and a detailed project plan with responsibilities is discussed. The output of this toll gate is a project plan which is agreed upon.
arrow Third toll gate is the Plan gateway, which has an entry criteria of agreed technical and functional specifications. The inputs are taken from the customer in the form of technical/ functional specifications, project plans and design documents. We review the design documents and resolve review comments with the customer. Thereafter, we draw a detailed master test plan, feature test plans, test cases, test data requirements and traceability matrices.  Once we have an agreement with the customer on the above, we move to the next toll gate which is the execute phase.
arrow In the Execute Toll gate, we take the application under test and test cases as the inputs. Designed test cases are executed at the right stages in the product life cycle, and defects reported per the defect guidelines we train the testers on. Exploratory testing is also encouraged over the course of testing to bring in more out of box scenarios, to test. Defect reports, regressed defects taken to closure, test result summary reports, scripts from various test cycles all constitute the outputs of this phase. With this, the test team signs off on the product subject to the pre-defined exit criteria being met.
arrow Fifth and final phase is the Control Toll gate, in which we undertake change management; we take inputs from the user and client to implement quality control measures and independent quality assurance. We also take on change impact analysis, plan for change to be implemented, monitor change implementation and update the base line. Output from this phase would be the implemented change and an updated baseline provided the change was accepted.
